We recommend that hobby beekeepers connect 4 hives the first year to validate their use. They often equip all their hives afterwards. Our solution has the advantage of being easily expandable.
Professional beekeepers generally equip 4 hives per apiary of 30 to hives and this on all their apiaries (generally about ten) to intervene only when it is necessary and to manage the priorities between the apiaries.

Manufacturing
An IP68 certified waterproof case protects the electronic components from the elements.
The weight sensor is the most common in the industry. It is commonly used in personal scales. It supports up to 150 Kg of load without failing.
The rigidity of the glass board distributes the weight of the beehive evenly and thus offers precise measurements. Its thickness of 20 mm guarantees a good resistance to the shocks of use.

Manufacturing
The 5 mm thick galvanized steel support is perfectly resistant to handling shocks. The electronic components are protected from the elements within a waterproof IP68 certified case.
The Zemic C3 class load cell is used in many industrial equipments (pallet truck or production line with weighing) for its long life and reliability.
The rigidity is ensured by an assembly with thick plates.
The whole unit is made of galvanized steel to resist to bad weather on the long term.

Manufacturing
The scale is made entirely of stainless aluminium. The 2 plates of 10 mm thickness stiffen the structure and ensure an optimal precision of the data.
The IP68-rated waterproof case protects the electronics from rain and moisture.
The ZEMIC L6E3 - 150, class C3 load cell is used in many industrial equipments (weighing pallet truck or production line with weighing) for its long life and reliability.

The Mountain Transmitter Relay can be used as a "tester" to help you determine the best position of this box around the apiary for each of your locations.
Additional transmitters

The effects of waves on bees
The SIGFOX transmitters emit harmless waves of very low power which do not disturb the bees at all. In the "mountain" and "Wlan" configuration, the main transmitter sends information back to the relay transmitter, in which case communication takes place via FSK waves, also at very low power.

Our warranty includes material and labor and covers the use of the scales in accordance with the user manual. You are responsible for the return shipping costs.
We service your scales in our workshop and change batteries and replace worn parts. We guarantee the availability of spare parts for 5 years after a model has been discontinued.
We never share your data. Only you can access it. We produce department-wide statistics from anonymised data.
We started, like everyone else, with one connected hive per apiary but the results were of no use to us. As soon as the selected hive showed an abnormal behaviour (weak colony, swarming...), we were back to the starting point to open all the hives.
As the tests progressed, we found a good balance with 4 scales. We never found more than two hives out of 4 with specific behaviors. This way you always have reliable data to act at the right time.

French and German professional beekeepers usually connect a fraction of their hives. Belgian beekeepers are increasingly equipping the entire apiary. They optimize the whole production with targeted interventions. They obtain equivalent results with 20% fewer hives.
Our receivers accommodate 4 scales simultaneously. You can connect up to 6 receivers on an apiary (24 scales) with a single subscription using the additional receivers.
Most commercial beehive scales are equipped with class C3 sensors which have an accuracy of +/- 50 g. The indication of a resolution of 10 g refers to the number of digits of the display and not to the accuracy.
